<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 14pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">A Second Life pode ser entendida como uma plataforma Web a três dimensões, “imagined and created entirely by its Residents” (Linden Research, 2008)</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">. Consideramos que este ambiente virtual multi-utilizador tem clara aplicação educacional, uma vez que permite “to build 3-D objects collaboratively and in real time with others in the same world has enormous potential for teaching building, design, and art principles. Because Second Life is a rough simulation of the natural world, with meteorological and gravitational systems, the possibilities of experimenting with natural and physical sciences are endless. Meanwhile, the ability to interact with people from all over the globe enables political and cultural exchange and research in a safe and controlled environment” (Wagner, 2007). </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">Assim, sentimos necessidade de compilar e partilhar recursos sobre a </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-style:italic;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">Second Life</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">, em particular sobre a sua aplicação no ensino-aprendizagem e as suas implicações e repercussões.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 14pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">O </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">EP</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">RAC@</span><span>SL é um projecto coordenado </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">pelo Professor Doutor Pedro Sequeira da Escola Superior de Desporto de Rio Maior do Instituto Superior Politécnico de Santarém</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">, </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">pela Mestre Ana Loureiro e</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> pela Professora Doutora Maria Barbas</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Superior Politécnico de Santarém</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 5pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">O Espaço de Partilha de Recursos Académicos e Científico</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">s em Second Life surgiu da nece</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">ssidade, sentida pelos </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">autores do projecto</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">, d</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">a</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> exist</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">ência de</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> um local que pudesse disponibilizar, compilar e armazenar documentação e informação relativa à SL. Dados que vão sendo pesquisados e recolhidos, repetidamente, por diversos agentes educativos e científicos (desde docentes, investigadores, alunos).</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> Os autores observaram que era realizado um trabalho exaustivo, e repetido por todos, sempre que era necessário abordar uma determinada temática</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">. Cada agente educativo faz</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> a sua pesquisa, recolha e armazenamento, sem partilhar essa árdua tarefa</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">. Existindo um espaço onde se possa partilhar as pesquisas que cada um vai fazendo ao longo dos seus percursos académicos e científicos, será uma </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">mais-valia</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> para todos, Permitindo uma rentabilização e uma optimização dos tempos de criação intelectual de cada um.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 5pt;"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">Assim, consideramos que o</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> “</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">armazenamento, acesso, reutilização</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">, preservação e gestão dos conteúdos” (Rodrigues e Baptista, 2008: 119) académicos e científicos assume, hoje em dia, uma importância crescente. Com a integração e utilização das redes sociais digitais nos espaços académicos, a partilha de conteúdos poderá e deverá ser mais facilitada e incentivada. Os repositórios de cont</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">eúdos digitais, ou </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-style:italic;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">e</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">-conteúdos, são encarados como locais onde “conteúdos e bens digitais são armazenados e podem ser pesquisados e consultados para uso futuro</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">” (Hayes, 2006). O EPRAC@</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-style:italic;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">SL</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"></span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">não pretende ser um Repositório Institucional, tendo em conta que estes são definidos como “um conjunto de serviços que uma universidade oferece aos membros da sua comunidade para a gestão e disseminação de materiais digitais criados pela instituição e pelos membros da sua comunidade” (Lynch, 2002). Será antes um espaço de recolha e partilha de documentos e informações relacionados com uma temática específica – </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-style:italic;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">Second Life</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">. Estes recursos podem variar na sua estrutura, formato e apresentação, sendo recolhidos em diversos meios de comunicação e informação. O EPRAC@</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-style:italic;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">SL</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> será criado </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">e suportado </span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">de forma colaborativa entre docentes</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';">, investigadores</span><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:'Arial Narrow';"> e alunos.</span></p>
